Che davvero si vada a tagliare la EPIC camera di DSCOVR, e che questa idea cretina stia sopravvivendo tutti i vari stadi di review di questo budget, è davvero demenziale.
Ma ARM è stato tagliato?
David Miller ha tenuto una inspirational lecture a Padova il mese scorso e gli ho chiesto proprio questa cosa, ha detto che effettivamente sì è stata tagliata.
Lo ha detto anche Lightfoot nei suoi Remarks sul budget 2018:
“While we are ending formulation of a mission to an asteroid, known as the Asteroid Redirect Mission, many of the central technologies in development for that mission will continue, as they constitute vital capabilities needed for future human deep space missions.”
Speriamo che il congresso migliori questo budget aumentandolo considerevolmente.
