La startup Venturi Astrolab sta lavorando ad un prototipo di rover lunare pilotato da equipaggio che potenzialmente potrebbe candidarsi al bando NASA LTV (Lunar Terrain Vehicle).
Al motto “If we build it, the future will come” la startup sta già testando sul campo (Death Valley, California) il prototipo sotto la guida dell’astronauta Chris Hadfield.
Il rover dovrebbe garantire 8 ore di autonomia, resistere alle notti lunari e trasportare fino a 1500kg, ed essere pilotato remotamente o on-board da 2 astronauti.
